New games section! 0

Right, I’ve been working on this for a while now, and it’s only been in the last week or so that I’ve been arsed to finally finish it!

I’m please to announce the addition of a games section to the site! Some games are games I used to have on previous web sites, but the ones towards the end are retro games that I love and hold dear!

Enjoy and have fun!

Spank the Monkey

How fast can you Spank the Monkey?

This is a really addictive game where the main aim is to spank the monkey as fast as you possibly can. I have found a cool cheat for this. See if you can beat my record of 800+mph!

Mini Putt

Golf just isn’t golf if you don’t have to putt through a windmill or round a loop-the-loop! This game is very basic, but is extremely addictive.

Another favourite of mine. This is basically a 3D pong type game which also allows you to curve the ball around to try and trick you opponent. This game was the bane of my life for around 6 months after discovering it!

First Person Tetris

A novelty Tetris game. This is a really cool take on the classic “Tetris”. The pieces stay in the same position, but the backdrop moves around as you rotate the pieces. Strange, but strangely alluring.

1D Tetris

What’s your high score?

3D Tetris

This game is so unbelievably mind boggling and complicated that it was worth mentioning here.

Everyone has played PacMan at some point in their lives. Wagga Wagga Wagga Wagga Wagga Wagga Blip blip!

Release Date: 1980
Original Platform: Arcade

The first home video game. This is the one that started it all. Next time you’re playing Call of Duty in your underwear, give a little thanks to PONG. Without PONG you wouldn’t be sat there in your pants, drinking beer and arguing with some other fat kid in Italy about an illegal move. This is as close to the original as I could find.

Release Date: 1972
Original Platform: Arcade

Space Invaders

Quite possibly THE greatest game of all time! Destroy all the aliens before they reach the bottom of the screen. This game was that popular that it led to a 100-Yen coin shortage in Japan in the early 80s!

Release Date: June 1978
Original Platform: Arcade

all of the rocks and space debris before it destroys you!

Release Date: 1979
Original Platform: Arcade

Donkey Kong

You Stupid Ape! Control Jump Man (Yes, that’s what Mario was called before being called “Mario”) to save the Princess from a giant ape! Donkey Kong has to be one of the best examples of things being lost in translation. Called “Stupid Ape” in Japan, the games creators needed to translate the name to an English friendly name when it was launched in America in the early 80s. “Ape” translated as “Kong”, where as “Stupid” was incorrectly translated as “Donkey”. “Donkey Kong” has stuck ever since.

Release Date: 1981

Even though this game is nearly 30 years old, and older than I am, I can’t seem to escape it. I used to play this game all the time on my old Atari and in recent years, an old boss tried to explain to me how to code it in machine code. You are the frog at the side of the road. Get across the road and avoid all other obstacles.

Release Date: 1981
Original Platform: Arcade

Atari fans (and Geeks (Excluding Gleeks, who aren’t real Geeks)) will love this. A web adaptation of the game Pitfall. This is as close to the original as it gets without blowing the dust off of your old Atari! Jump over barrels, jump over Alligators and swing from vines to avoid falling down pits.

Release Date: September 1982
Original Platform: Atari
